The term Balayage is taken from the French word for ‘sweeping’. A freehand hair colouring technique that gives a blended, natural look. Balayage allows for a sun-kissed, natural looking hair colour, with softer, less noticeable re-growth. The principal idea being less is more when creating a natural, multi-tonal finish. The technique uses patches of light and shade to create multiple dimensions to the colour.

In French, ombré means 'shade' or 'shadow'. With Hair Colour, ombré is a two-toned effect that is usually darker at the top and lighter at the bottom. Usually, the darker top section is your natural hair colour (though this can be changed also), and the bottom lighter section can be natural, dramatic, or anything inbetween.

Highlights are the perfect way to enhance your natural hair colour, and can be subtle and sun-kissed, bold and dramatic or anything inbetween. If your base colour is brown, you can add highlights that are a lighter brown, or even have brown hair with blonde highlights. For blondes, blonde highlights can incorporate lighter blonde shades. In short, Highlights add dimension and movement to any hair colour.

Bleach and Tone

A Bleach and Tone service is the process of applying bleach to the whole hair or in specific sections (such as the root area), and then applying a toner to achieve the desired result. This is useful when the desired colour is lighter than your natural colour.

Global Colour

When you'd like to cover grey hair, touch up a section of regrowth, or to add shine to your existing colour, this is the option for you. One colour, applied to the whole hair or in sections, for example on your root area.

If you've had your hair lightened previously (maybe with a Balayage, Ombre, Highlights or Bleach), you can refresh the colour without having the whole service done again with a Toner.

Olaplex with Hair Colour

Hair Colour is important, but nothing is as important as the integrity or condition of your hair - after all, Hair Colour looks better on Hair in great condition. Allertons respects this, and will always recommend the best course of action for you. Olaplex treatments integrated with your Hair Colour service will strengthen, repair and protect your hair.
